Cake baking is a practice that is very easy and many people can manage baking cakes in their different forms. If people are worried that the process may be a failure due to the results of the first time they baked a cake, they should just follow the instructions to the letter. Reading the directions on how to bake this cake and the list of ingredients is the first task irregardless of whether it is the first time or not.

Most cake failures are caused by the neglect of the individual who is baking the cake to make sure that all the ingredients are present and more so in their accurate measurement. All ingredients should be available and kept at room temperature unless the recipe states otherwise. Eggs need to have 30 minutes at room temperature and then they are used. Vegetable oil, milk, water, flour, baking soda and of course the eggs, are the basic ingredients. Start baking by the preparation of the pan smearing the inside with little butter to prevent the sticking of the cake.

To the pan, add one or two tablespoons of the flour, in regards to the size of the pan. Make sure the flour is on every corner of the pan. The flour helps the cake to acquire the pan shape and make the top of the cake to be flat. Preheating the oven is the next step to 1800C hot. And in a separate bowl, pour the mixture in one by one in order of recipe specification.

With either bare hands or a wooden spoon, beat the resulting mixture in one minute or at least till the mix is well combined. Beat the butter also, not too much but just enough to make it soft. Recommendations suggest that the mixture should be commenced with the addition of the dry ingredients then the liquid ingredients to follow. When well mixed, pour it into the prepared pan and make the smooth top and for about 40 to 50 minutes, let it be in the centre shelf of the oven.

When the baking period is through, the appearance of this finished product should be well risen and golden. If a skewer is inserted and comes out clean and when the centre is pressed slightly and the cake springs back, then the cake is ready. Leave it in the pan for five or so minutes and a knife should be used to gently run it round this pan and removed and placed on a rack for cooling. Serving it in icing sugar will give excellent results.
